Kim Kardashian-West is planning to become a lawyer WITHOUT holding a Bachelor’s Degree. Last summer, the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ reality tv star began a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco. I know many of you are like, “HOW can you take a bar exam without having a Law Degree?”
Well, in California, a person can take an alternative method in order to take the bar exam without attending law school and it’s one of four states that has this law - The other three states being Virginia, Vermont, & Washington State.
Under these four states, you have to complete a law apprenticeship, receiving on the job training under the guidance of mentors rather than attending a law school for three years. Now in Maine, New York & Wyoming, it’s required that apprenticeships are combined with law school.
As she closes in on her first year with the California State Bar and prepares to write up a torts essay on negligence, she takes to social media to express her gratitude and thoughts. In her latest Instagram post she expresses the sacrifices and time away from her family that she has to make in following her dreams, responds to the backlash she’s been receiving, along with thanking Van Jones for believing in her and introducing her to her mentors Jessica Jackson and Erin Haney.
I mean hey, her father is Robert Kardashian who was the infamous leading defense attorney on the O.J Simpson trial in the late 90s. It seems as though she’s following in her father’s footsteps.
If you need a lawyer, will you be calling the Law Office of Kim Kardashian?
